John J. Mervinsky Jr. Frederick, Md. Formerly of Monessen John J. Mervinsky Jr., 77, formerly of Monessen, died Tuesday, March 14, 2006 in Citizens Nursing Home, Frederick, Md. Born in Monessen on May 5, 1928, he was a son of the late John J. and Mary Koritar Mervinsky. He was a former member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, VFW Post 1190 and the Slovak Home, all in Monessen. Mr. Mervinsky was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a 1946 graduate of Monessen High School. He retired from the Monessen plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Co., blooming mill dept. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret J. Mervinsky. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, James and Monica Mervinsky, of Fredrick, Md.; two grandsons, John and Mathew Mervinsky; one brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Janice Mervinsky, of Los Angeles, Calif.; one niece, Karen Comstock, of Palm Springs, Calif.; and one nephew, David Mervinsky, of Arcata, Calif. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the ROBERT A. BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. A Blessing Service will be held Saturday, March 18 at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord R.C. Church. Entombment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Monessen. Burial: Grandview Cemetery Monessen Westmoreland County Pennsylvania, USA
